A few years ago a very famous glass artist came to St. Petersburg along with his formidible creations of glass.  We were among the quarter of a million people who saw the exhibit and were instantly hooked on art glass. 

Of course, his beautiful glass is out of the reach of most folks price wise, however we have found a couple of artists of exceptional skill and creative energy to show you. 

Just keep your hands off the jelly fish below- I'd like to enjoy it for a while longer.

Creation of Art Glass begins by gathering molten glass onto the end of a blowpipe.  Decoration with colored glass made using minerals such as copper, cobalt, or gold were applied using techniques developed as long ago as 2000 BC. 

Today’s Glass Artist creates unique designs using these colors as the glass is both mouth blown and hand formed into its final shape. After being gradually annealed, the glass is ground, polished, carefully inspected and signed.  Only then, the finished piece of art is ready to grace your home.  Treasure and enjoy!
